What Book's Up, Buttercup?

Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari

on January 8, 2016

I was very lucky to read the book Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari. This is not your average romance book. It is not a bit of trash, or ooey gooey. This was a in-depth, sociology based look at love in the modern world. It took a look at social media, online dating, marriage, relationships in other countries compared with the United States. While this book was factual, it was not boring At All. I listened on audio, and hearing Aziz Ansari read was like listening to an informative standup routine. I could imagine him saying the things while waving his arms or the faces he was making. There were so many times that I found myself actually laughing out loud.
I thought on of the most interesting pieces of information was the way people in Japan find, or do not find, love. The fact that the government is having to step in and find opportunities to make singles available and in contact was fascinating.
This was a great book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is dating, in a relationship, or thinking about being in one. In short, everyone. If you can listen to the audio, that is even better. I give this book 5 gold stars.
