What Book's Up, Buttercup?

ERC – Outlander by Diana Gabaldon @bookdout

For challenge number two, I am reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I am so excited about this book, and I wanted someone to talk about it with, so what better place than the blog. Claire Randall is a former nurse in the war, and on her second honeymoon with her husband in the year 1945. While out one day searching for herbs and plants she is mysteriously transported to the year 1743. There she meets a Scots warrior James Fraser. Suddenly she is torn between the love and devotion she has for her husband, and this intriguing man that causes great desire. Each man is vastly different, but so is the life she is now leading. What is she to do?

I am only 17% into this book, and trust me, that is pretty far considering it is 896 pages long. I am also listening to the audible version as I read along due to the heavy accents and words I am not sure of exactly. I love the characters and getting to know them has been enjoyable. You would think you would want to hurry up and get along, but I am enjoying every word and the pace at which it flows. I loved Claire’s husband Frank, but I also love Jamie. Each of them have qualities that I admire and find wonderful in a potential partner, but I just love Jamie more. I love his passion, is compassion, his goodness. He stands up for those who are weak, and lets Claire see the vulnerable side of himself. While I do not condone infidelity, I am torn with what I want Claire to do. As I read along, I will not give spoilers, but I will let you know how it is going.

Happy Reading, everyone!
